LET'S HAVE SOME FUN LEARNING THE BEAUTIFUL GAME IN A FUN, HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT
Introducing a low-cost, volunteer, parent-coached program that will provide an environment for every player to participate on a team, regardless of their interest or ability.
This program will provide a fun, creative and non-stressful environment to develop not only soccer players but responsible young men and women. Using a curriculum developed by SA United Soccer Club, players will be able to enhance their technical and tactical skills, while building fitness and socializing with friends.
Age-appropriate training led by volunteer parent managers/coaches who will follow the SA United competitive program curriculum that focuses on player development using the Four Pillars: Technical, Tactical, Physical and Social.
Sessions will be held at GVTC Communications SportsPlex and players will have 1 weekly session for 1 hour, led by volunteer team coach/manager. The season will run for approximately 10 weeks depending on league schedule.

Our Recreational program will educate players of all ages in a fun, encouraging, healthy environment. Our players will learn skill sets, motor functions in a friendly community surrounding.

PROGRAM CONTENTS
Proof of age - Birth certificate required.
INCLUDED IN OUR RECREATIONAL PROGRAM:
- • All age groups include an SA United training shirt
• Play up requests only if approved by the Executive Director or Recreational Director
• Every team will have a parent volunteer coach to run training sessions and the weekend games. He/she will also act as a communication liaison between the parents and the club
• Goal to provide every player with a team on which to play
• Balanced teams to provide fair, meaningful and competitive games. This will mean teams will have varying levels of skill
• All players play 50%, unless due to illness, injury or disciplinary reasons
• When players register, they are placed on a team. Players can request to play with friends
GAME FORMAT
U7 (2017) and U8 (2016) teams play a 4v4 game format with 2x20 minute halves.
U9 (2015) - U14 (2010) teams play a 7v7 game format with 2x25 minute halves.
PLAYER EQUIPMENT: Players at U7-U12 age groups use a size 4 soccer ball. Players at U13/U14 age groups use a size 5 soccer ball. Shin guards and cleats are required for all games and training.
FIELD DIMENSIONS: U7/U8, it is minimum 20x30 yards and maximum 35x40 yards. U9-U14 players it is minimum 35x55 yards and maximum 45x65 yards.

What age groups does the Recreational program accommodate?
Our Recreational program begins at U7 (6) years old, and works up to U14 (13) years old, boys and girls.
Do you offer a scholarship program / financial assistance to families?
Yes we do, SA United is committed to affording all players the opportunity to participate in club soccer. Each year we budget to provide financial assistance for families that are in need.
How many training sessions are included in the program per week?
Players typically train once a week, 6.15-7.15pm.
Are their opportunities for my child to play up an age group?
Yes, we offer players opportunities to player at higher levels in our other programs. These opportunities are determined by the program Director and the player(s) coach.
Can I bring my friends?
Yes, please feel free to bring your friends, try out the program and see if is something you would like to join.
Our Academy program is a fantastic place for young athletes to continue their soccer education, while constantly challenging and developing their mind and body.
Q. Can we come out to the Sportsplex and see what the environment is like before registering?
A. Of course, we can arrange a free POE for your child and your family to experience our club.
Our Junior program focuses on our athletes learning to compete as a team, developing as an individual, enjoying the pursuit of excellence in a challenging environment.
Q. Entering into the competitive phase of soccer, what can we expect from the program?
A. We offer multiple levels of competitive play, with a club focus and philosophy on developing intelligent, skillful athletes.
Players moving into the Senior program begin to learn about our competition phase, while we develop them for successful high-school and college careers in sport and study.
Q. How do you help players with their college aspirations and recruitment?
A. With a dedicated program director, we provide each athlete with a guide and athlete profile, outlining a timeline to organize their goals and support them in the recruiting process.

Q. If my child really enjoys the program, are there any options for movement into the other club programs?
A. Yes of course. We actually have players who have excelled in the program and then progressed into our Academy and Junior programs to further their development.
Developing the very fundamentals of soccer, at the earliest time of a child's development, is crucial in their soccer education.

A. Our program has a set curriculum based on ball mastery, and a fun challenging environment to instill a passion and love for the game.
