Weekend Round up Oct 19th and 20th

Saturday October 19th – we are now over the half-way point of the fall 2013 season and are encouraged to see further development, whether it be positive performances, good results or teams that improve with every game. This weekend was no different.

There were stand out performances by our 01 Boys who maintained their 100% record in Division One by winning 9-1 and our 99 Boys IASA stayed top of the league with a 4-0 win over CE 99B Gold/Inter. The 03 Girls Silver got back to winning ways with a 5-0 victory, where the 99 Girls Black remained undefeated with a 3-1 win over Lonestars White. The girls were also in action on Sunday and picked up another victory, 2-0 over Lonestars Silver NTH. The girls are playing with a lot of confidence and have gained a lot of momentum in the run up to the end of the season! There was a long overdue win for the 98 Girls Gold who were superb in a 2-0 win over McAllen in Corpus Christi. The girls have competed well all season and finally were rewarded for their excellent play. The 97 Girls Gold picked up a crucial win as they saw off GRAYSA to win 3-1. A result that sees them apply pressure at the top of the standings.

On Sunday, the 02 Boys Silver, 97 Boys IASA, 96 Boys IASA, 96 Boys Black, 96 Boys Gold, 00 Girls Gold and 99 Girls Black all produced some excellent soccer to win their games. For the 96 Boys IASA it continued their current run of good form which keeps them top of the SCL and for the 97 Boys IASA, their 1-0 win over 2nd placed Lonestars Red moved them above their opposition and into 2nd in Division One. The 96 Boys Black secured their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory and the 96 Boys Gold continue to improve as they defeated Pflugerville Strikers 5-1! The 01 Boys Black and 00 Girls Black both drew 1-1 with Coach Sally stating that the girls probably deserved more out of their game with McAllen Dallas Texans. Congratulations again to our players and coaching staff as we continue to consistently improve our performances from week to week!!

Several SAU players had the chance to meet players from the USWNT on Saturday before the game.

Finally, we also had a number of our players and parents attend the USWNT game at the Alamo dome. It was a great experience for our players to watch a live and high level professional game! The USWNT beat Australia 4-0 in an entertaining spectacle!

There was a great turn out of SAU players and famalies included in the 19,000 strong crowd at the Alamodome for the USWNT's 4-0 win over Australia.
Above, the 03 Girls Black show their support.
